Two Las Vegas residents have died of injuries suffered in a head-on collision Saturday on U.S. 95 northbound at the 215 Beltway.
The Clark County coroner's office identified the victims as 32-year-old Jamil Kadar Hawkins and 27-year-old Kanisha Shanell Jones.
Both died from multiple injuries suffered in the crash, which occurred at about 3:13 a.m. Saturday.
The Las Vegas Fire and Rescue squad responded to the crash, said Tim Szymanski, spokesman for the Las Vegas Fire department.
Firefighters extricated Hawkins from the wreckage and he was taken to University Medical Center's trauma unit, where he later died, Szymanski said. Jones was trapped inside the vehicle.
The Nevada Highway Patrol is investigating the crash. Details of the crash weren't immediately available.
