Poll: Obama up by 4 in Nevada
Monday, Oct. 27, 2008 | 7:49 a.m.
A new poll released this morning gives Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama a lead of four points in Nevada.
The Zogby International poll puts Obama ahead of Republican John McCain, 48.2 percent to 44 percent.
"Obama is within two points of McCain among several groups that are McCain strengths in many states, such as whites, men and those over 65. Obama leads by 10 among women, 14 with Independents and eight with Catholics," Zogby said on its Web site this morning. "McCain is ahead by 10-11 points with whites and those over 65, but Obama is up 12 with Independents."
The Nevada results are similar to results of a Reuters/C-SPAN/Zogby daily national tracking poll. Nationwide, the pollster puts Obama ahead of McCain, 49.9 percent to 45.1 percent.

Obama says on radio "It was a tragedy the Supreme Court didn't pursue Wealth Redistribution as part of the civil rights movement". In his words
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iivL4c_3p...
In the run up to the 08 election the buzz is that Barack Obama, in the words (10-26-08 LV Sun) of that uber smart Nobel Memorial Prize winner Paul Krugman "now is cool, calm, intellectual and knowledgeable, and able to talk coherently".
Paul Krugman even lamented that this Kool-Bama charisma was more important than Obama's socially progressive ideas.
After the DNC convention Obama made a deliberate attempt to subvert his normal messiah persona with a classic Prozac image. This was played out by the financial crisis where Obama was aloof on the sideline and waited several days to response to Congress' action.
Using his penumbrae political task force on economic conditions, Obama is on the one hand able to claim consultation and on the other hand claim uber (superior) intellect on every subject. This will pass on November 5th.
Everyone from MSNBC to CNN has been trumpeting Harvard Lawyer Kool-Bama's uber (superior) intellect.
We can surmise of this fact of intellect, that Obama will always act in the interest of the uber Democratic party above all else because this will ensure his next election. Their voter base will expand as they overwhelm the poor with redistribution of wealth economic system from the shrinking middle and upper class. This is basically the bird feeder political theory. If you put out free food they will flock to it and stop hunting elsewhere.
If Democrats (with their 60 plus majority in the senate) start in January there is every chance that the Constitution can be changed in time to allow Obama as many terms in office as he desires.
Throughout the economic crisis Barack Obama was able to show no anger, emotion, or urgency in an effort to appear cool.
While this may lead some to conclude that Barack is on Prozac, it really clear that he is able to fully disassociate himself for everyday people's emotions.
Nice spammo on the links. Seriously, if all you are going to do is put out like 15 links, just don't.
Future, it's a nice way of saying without being explicit that John McCain's oars aren't completely in the water. And they aren't.
GREAT for Obama and his many supporters.
It's good to see so many early voters coming out to cast their vote. Whether your choice is McCain or Obama,"vote".
McCain's generations time is over time to retire and hand over the power to the next generation.
Wow brian, might get the hint that the staff don't like people just posting links? At least make the case of why we should click on the link? What's it to, why is it relevant? Just little help there.
Friday night some bitter MCCain and or Palin supporter stole my Obama yard sign and replaced it with a McCain/Palin sign.
Zogby? Geez, why don't you just pay me to stand on a street corner and poll people at random... my results will be just as accurate. I haven't respected that charlatan since he projected Kerry would get at least 300 EVs in 2004.
Fortunately, two grown-up pollsters (CNN/Time and Rasmussen) have recently put Nevada at Obama +5 (and, more importantly, put Obama over 50%). So I'll put it down to luck that Zogby managed to get an accurate result.
FORGET REDISTRIBUTION OF WEALTH
It already exists in the form of taxes. We're all heading for higher taxes. How about redistributing better education more effectively, and lay a foundation for rebuilding a solid future?
http://pacificgatepost.blogspot.com/2008...
Obama supporters VOTE! Make sure your friends vote. Every vote counts. Send Obama to Washington with a clear and significant margin.
The rest of of you, well "something happening and you dont know what it is, do you. mr. jones" Bob Dylan.
Has anyone read the New York Times Magazine yesterday? Wow!
AgMallard,
I had the same problem then someone suggested a little Icy Hot and/or dog poo on the sign will usually stop the sign thieves.
Watch Obama tell people before he ran for President the problem is WHITE people don't want to pay taxes that go to the inner cities. I know it's not about race. http://www.noquarterusa.net/blog/2008/10...
No Quarter? That would be the blog, as I recall, that claimed to have a tape of Michelle Obama raging about "whitey" during the primaries. Then, surprise, surprise... no such tape existed!
In other words, No Quarter peddles racist, unsubstantiated slime, and I assign little value to their rantings.
Republicans hire mercenaries (including Obama supporters) for ground war against Barack Obama
http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/wo...
It is kind of funny watching republicans in a hurricane of last second ads and innuendo trying to play the race card. Seriously, constantly baying about how racist Obama is is some serious projection work out there. Give it a rest, tell me why people should vote McCain, and that's it. America is tired of the republican play book of, "Well I'm not as horrible/evil as the other guy, so vote me in"
They have no positive points, ferret.
Like NVMakz and Jfnance32, all they can do is attack. It's a sign of a lost campaign.
ksand99....I read many of your posts.
I have never seen you make a postive point about Obama.
Also, you are so full of BS.
You would half-quote Ayers as writing in his book, "I didn't actually bomb the Pentagon "
In his book,"Fugitive Days," Ayers writes: "Everything was absolutely ideal on the day I bombed the Pentagon."
"Even though I didn't actually bomb the Pentagon -- we bombed it, in the sense that Weathermen organized it and claimed it.'
LOL....ksand99 you are soooooooooooooo funny.
...oh my allah...many posters and pundits are trying to imply that 'redistribution of wealth' is something to fear (it is of course)...but Obama voters are believers in that mantra...Obamanians are energized by the thought of taking by force the fruits of one person's labor to provide for another...methinks we need more economic dot-connectors explaining the folly of wealth redistribution to the unwashed masses...
"I have never seen you make a postive point about Obama."
You have a hard time reading, then. Here's my post from August 2nd.:
----------------------------------------------
I am glad George Bush and John McCain finally agree with Barack Obama.
He has said all along that we need to redeploy our troops, and now they agree!
Even the leaders in Iraq agree!
This shows great leadership on the part of Barack Obama.
He has also kept his eye on Afghanistan, which George Bush and John McCain forgot about. Now, there are more troops dying in Afghanistan than Iraq!
And Barack Obama said a long time ago that we needed reinforcements in Afghanistan!
Then John McCain flip flopped and agreed with Obama.
He was smart enough to realize we didn't have to go to war in the first place, and he's smart enough to wage smarter wars.
And John McCain just wants us to get involved in ANOTHER war with Iran! He's singing songs about it!
The American people have seen Obama's leadership on these issues and I think they trust him alot more than they trust Bush and McCain.
----------------------------------------------
And you still quote Ayers out of context. Why don't you post the next two lines of that paragraph? I don't think you will, because it explains what he means. Ayers did not bomb the Pentagon, he's writing in first person as the Weathermen. DUH! In the next few sentences, he explains that he can't reveal who did the bombing because they will suffer consequences.
That's why he wrote, "even though I didn't actually bomb the Pentagon."
LOL, you were wrong.
Dr. Strangelove, No, I avoid reading the New York Times AND anything written by Karl Marx! But, enjoy as that rag's stock value and subscribership has fallen so dramatically within the last several years, soon you may only be able to read the Grey Lady in archival form. LOL...
AgMallard - Firstly, how do you know a "McCain-Palin" supporter perpetrated the dastardly deed and secondly, how do you know they were "bitter?" Think of their actions as a PUBLIC SERVICE!
Scorpiogal - Sure sounds like an appropriate tribute - "dog poo" on a Barack Obama sign!
Yeah news, I'm sure you would feel the same way if your McCain/Palin sign was taken down and replaced by an Obama/Biden sign. I think it's safe to say a republican supporter did it. That's not to say they had any support within the party at all for the action, but it was probably a lone republican doing it.
News, Not bitter, how about childish or resentful? Rouge actor? Maybe. Emblematic? Most certianly.
HEY SORRY IT WAS A MCCAIN PALIN SIGN MAYBE DISNEY PINOCIO WOULD BE MORE APPORIATE ???
Hey you're clever. Clever enough to keep typing in caps like you're shouting, or not bright enough to hit the caps button again to type in lower case. And you horribly misspelled Pinocchio.
THE NICE THINGS ABOUT POLLS LIKE THIS IS MCCAIN SUPPORTERS WILL VOTE OBAMA SUPPORTERS WILL THINK HE ALLREADY WON AND NOT VOTE UNLESS THERE VOTE HAS ALLREADY BEEN MADE UNKNOWNST TO THEM.
redferret - I THINK NZBOB HAS AN APPLE IIC. CAPS ONLY. NOT SURE HOW HE CONNECTS TO THE NET, DON'T REMEMBER THE NETWORK PORT ON THAT ONE.
UNLESS HE'S JUST REALLY ANGRY ALL THE TIME OR THINKS NOBODY WILL READ HIS POSTS OTHERWISE.
Sorry its just so Obama supporters can read it
"Sorry its just so Obama supporters can read it"
THANKS, WE NEED IT YOU KNOW! WE CAN BARELY TELL YOU GUYS APART FROM ONE ANOTHER. IT ALL STARTS TO LOOK THE SAME. At least HATE, Hate, hate has some character differences.
2008 symbolically, iconically, culturally even economically, sees the close of an identity, the identity of who the united states was stretching about 220 years from about 1789 to 2008.
A powerfull white english nation who perhaps reached its golden era under kennedy.
Obama represents the start of something different, or perhaps the beginning of the end climatically and socially of USA.
ksand99...you have to go all the way back to Aug 9th to find a positive point.
Ayers admits to taking part in the bombing although he says did not personal place the bomb and pull the trigger.
He admits to helping organizing it and help support the mission.
He has never apologize even to this day for any of the bombings.
I think george bush was your best president,
but then i'm an aussie so i dont care who you elect.
"i'm an aussie so i dont care who you elect."
Could you please take Rupert Murdoch home with you? He seems to care a great deal!
Huh, still talking about Ayers, Nance?
How's that working out for your side?
I see you didn't take ksand's challenge to quote the next few lines from the book. That seems kinda... cowardly.
And it's quaint of you to criticize others for being negative. Pot, kettle... you know.
I was an undecided leaning towards Obama, until I did my own research. The more I educated myself on this man, I more concerned I am. I love this country, I urge you to do YOUR OWN RESEARCH FIRST. Here are notes I've taken so far-
Odinga-cousin, Obama campaigned for in 2006 in trip to Kenya (funded by taxpayer money). Odinga supports Sharia Law, ties to extermists. After initially losing election around 1,000 killed in riots, including 50 christians seeking refuge in a church burned alive. Ran under slogan of "change"
Frank Marshall Davis- Communist childhood mentor to Obama in Hawaii
Khalidi-PLO terrorist organization, Obama gave presentation praising this man, dinner and money buddy
Rezko-convicted felon, 16 counts of political corruption, friendship with Obama, controversy over land purchase for Obama 1.8 million dollar home, which he paid 300,000 less than value, huge financial supporter
Rev Wright, Rev Meeks, Father Phluger- Obama's spiriual advisers, men known for anti-white, anti-American theology, 20 year history with Rev Wright, supposedly "cut ties" After public scrutiny
Trinity Church- presented Farrakan with a Lifetime achievement award, has make comments such as "Hitler was a great man" and called Obama the Messiah
Ayers- domestic terrorist, Obama's first intro party into politics held at Ayer's house, appointed Obama, then community organizer to Chairman of CAC, worked together Woods Fund-funded 70,000 grant to Arab American Action Network founded by Khalidi-ties to the PLO terrorist organization
The media has even made jokes about Ayers Connection, I've seem Obama laugh over this relationship-
What's so funny about a man whose own girlfriend died from a bomb that was intended to be set at a dance for US SOLDIERS at FORT DIX. How could Obama set foot in this man's house?
Obama is a fraud. His two Paki roommates from Occidental College are in charge of the money laundering operation that has allowed him to saturate the airways with socialistic "feel good" and "lets get something for nothing propaganda," notwithstanding his false promise to accept public election financing.
Hey, GodblessAmerica - Thanks, for coming into the light. John McCain is not George Washington, but at least he does not have a record of supporting subversive individuals and groups. Now, a new audio has surfaced about Barack Obama from a Chicago public radio station in which in 2001, while a Illinois state senator, he LAMENTS the fact that the Supreme Court and lower courts did not go far enough to promote social and economic "justice" when they ruled on the great Civil Rights issues of our times. Now, you can understand the Illinois senator has a deep-seated, long-held political philosophy to redistribute the wealth of the few among the many. That by any SPIN of the imagination - is SOCIALISM!
Attn: Barack Obama supporters - Please, make sure you vote for the Illinois senator. Then, some years from now (IF he's elected), you can tell your children (or grand-children)..."Yes, I voted for Barack Obama, the man that destroyed American democracy and led our nation into the dismal failure of socialism." But, unfortunately, LIBERALS will NEVER be that honest.
godblessourmilitary - "...I did my own research."
It's amazing that you did your own research and yet somehow only managed to find right-wing talking points against Obama. Where did you look, Newsmax?
You simply could not be more transparent.
News1950 "...unfortunately, LIBERALS will NEVER be that honest.
So Mr. I'm Honest and You're Not, give us your honest assessment of the Bush presidency.
Do I hear crickets? chirp chirp.... chirp chirp.... chirp chirp....
Let's call Bush the Ghost of Closet Skeletons, shall we? Seems fitting for this time of year.
2008, the year NEOCONS went down!!!!!!!!
"Hey, GodblessAmerica - Thanks, for coming into the light."
Unfortunately, you dropped your keys in the dark.
Democratic registrations up, up, up...
Polls show Obama +4 (right at the edge +/- % factor of error).....
The buzz is all "Obama".....
But, think about this....no matter what the numbers say....when standing in front of those "edge" voting machines; how many of those Dem number touch Republican, Green, or None of the Above?
Never forget what happened to the projections about Kerry.
No matter what people verbalize or register, what it comes down to, unfortunately, is R-A-C-E. Racism is alive and well in this country and those afraid of public recrimination will silently and secretly NEVER vote for a black (even half) man to occupy the Oval Office. Hypocritical? Yes; but reality.
REQUIRED READING FOR UNDECIDED FOLKS: Get to know the real John McCain. http://www.rollingstone.com/news/coverst...
Polls don't elect presidents. The only day that will matter is next Tuesday. So why are so many people in a tizzy over a 4 or 5 point lead? Remember, Kerry was all but declared the winner in 2004 because of exit polling data. It was fun to watch the commentators faces turn to horror when the results actually started coming in. Also, there were a few states in which Kerry was way ahead but ended up losing.
It doesn't look to promising for McCain but I can only hope. I have always enjoyed cheering on the underdog.
As far as the REQUIRED READING FOR UNDECIDED FOLKS above, until I see anything other than a gushing and fawning piece on the Obama clan from that source, I won't be reading any "news articles" from them. I don't consider them what one would consider a reliable news source.
dbltrbl, ya got any proof of: "No matter what people verbalize or register, what it comes down to, unfortunately, is R-A-C-E."
Could it be that when people get to the polls on Tuesday then realize that The One is actually a socialist who can deliver a good scripted speech. Or, they just may not like his policies.
Will race play a part in SOME peoples decisions? Unfortunately, yes.
But you seem to be setting up as: ANYONE WHO VOTES AGAINST THE ONE IS A R-A-C-I-S-T. I voted early and I didn't vote for Obama. I can assure you that I am not a racist.
As long as the main stream media can keep a lid on Obama's socialism and his many long term associations with ultra-leftists Obama might win.
If the truth gets out before the election, he will be lucky to carry Illinois. And it is the truth. He is by far the most radical leftist ever to run as a major party's candidate in the history of the United States.
And unless you believe in socialist totalitarianism, don't vote for Barack Obama.
What garbage joinamerica. How is Obama totalitarian? How is he socialist, or better how is he more socialist than Bush (700 billion bailout) or Palin (sending checks to every Alaskan courtesy of Big Oil profits)?
Here's the reason why people aren't voting McCain... No one knows what he's for. All he's been pushing since summer is negative ads against his opponent. I would've wanted to hear what he's for not how much worse the other guy is.
So if you believe in smearing your opponent all the time, flip-flopping on basic issues, and overall putting politics first instead of country first, vote McCain Palin.
Now it's simply the 'Bush Bailout', even though the bailout was drafted and passed by a Democratically controlled congress. A more fitting description would be the Pelosi/Reid/Bush Bailout. Incidentally, I completely disagree with it. I thought it was a rather large waste of money. Should have just let the companies go under, IMHO.
Nice try with Palin sending checks to citizens comparison. That's been going on for a long time, way before Palin took office. It was agreement between Big OIL and the state of Alaska to let them pump oil, called royalties. So it's not nearly the same as Obama's Big Government stealing money from companies, simply because they do well, and giving it to those who he deems worthy. But like I said, nice try.
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/14935745/
Two more NV polls, released today:
Rasmussen: Obama 50, McCain 46
Suffolk: Obama 50, McCain 40
The last time any poll showed McCain in the lead in Nevada? Sept. 27.
Car_1 Poll
Obama 0%
McCain 100%
if obama becomes president, he will preside over a country going into a massive recession, lots of unhappy people who want quick answers, soon disillusioned by him there will be riots in cities, a dozen assination attemps and america will slip into dictatorship by necessity.
or it will be a new golden era of change for the change that changes every change and brings about a new change or something...ha.
Hey Johnevegas Does the home your in have a block to the internet other than the sun for you to do your research ????
THE TIMES/ BLOOMBERG POLL - Oct. 29 2008
Ohio - Obama 49% / McCain 40%
Florida - Obama 50% / McCain 43%
NZBOB - "Does the home your in have a block to the internet other than the sun for you to do your research ????"
Hummm... does the home your in have a block to the internet other than the sub for you to do your research?
I guess I would have answer it this way. Does the bottle you're drinking have a cork?
I don't care if it's been going on for a while, the royalties in Alaska. That's still socialism plain and simple. You are taking a private business's profits and spreading it around to other people who aren't shareholders. That is socialism. So for Palin to have the verve to call Obama a socialist is a little like the pot calling the kettle black.
And NZBOB, at least you stopped typing in all caps, now you just need to proofread what dreck you put on the board. What you type also looks/"sounds" incredibly like the crocodiles in the Pearls Before Swine comic strip found in the Sun.
That's a pathetic argument about the Alaskan royalties. In fact, it's just a statement. There is no comparison and you know it. And your original post made it look as though Palin was responsible for it. Both of your points were wrong and needed to be addressed.
