Metro Police are asking for the public's help in contacting possible theft or fraud victims of Jose Fornaris, also known as Antonio J. Oliver.

Fornaris is in the Clark County Detention Center charged with multiple counts of theft and fraud, police said.

Fornaris posed as an immigration attorney and charged people as much as $400 each to obtain a work card or a green card, police said.

In other cases, Fornaris would hire the victim as his driver. He would then ask the victim for cash under the false pretense that he needed cash to add the victim to his insurance policy.

In several cases he contacted victims outside the Regional Justice Center in downtown Las Vegas. He also contacted another victim outside the federal courthouse and told the person he worked for the federal government.

Metro Police fraud unit detectives believe there may be other victims of fraud. Fornaris mainly targeted Hispanic victims, police said.

Anyone who believes he or she is a victim of a crime committed by Fornaris is asked to file a report at any Metro Police substation or contact fraud detective Thomas Maddox at 828-3650.
