flashpoint:
It’s getting close to the election

It’s getting close to the election, so the ritual has begun, but even louder this year: Both parties are screaming about potential voter fraud and/or voter suppression. The Republicans have been wailing about ACORN for weeks. And now the local party has tried to get the secretary of state to rule that certain voters are ineligible because they didn’t complete their registration forms. The Democrats cried voter suppression; the secretary of state, Ross Miller, a Democrat (cue the ominous music), said no. Now the Democrats are exercised about robocalls made to Hispanic voters, telling them it’s OK to vote by phone. They blame the GOP and have started robocalls in response telling the Latinos they must vote in person. Eleven days left. It’ll just get worse.
