The Hills Park hosts Arthritis Walk on Saturday

Friday, Oct. 24, 2008 | 12:38 p.m.

The 2008 Nevada Arthritis Walk is taking place Saturday at The Hills Park in Summerlin. Registration begins at 3 p.m. for two walks -- a 1-mile and a 3-mile -- that will commence at 4:30 p.m.

The Hills Park is at 9100 Hillpointe Road near the corner of Hillpointe Road and Rampart Boulevard.

The walk is for all ages and will have a family-oriented Halloween theme, with awards for best costumes and a showing of “It’s The Great Pumpkin

Charlie Brown” at 6:30 p.m. The event will also include refreshments and a Kids Fun Zone.

Those with arthritis will wear blue hats to signify their action in taking control of their condition. The Honorary Chair of the 2008 Nevada Arthritis Walk is Congresswoman Shelley Berkley of Nevada’s First Congressional District.

The event is free to attend but donations are encouraged. All proceeds will benefit the Arthritis Foundation. For more information call 367-1626.
