flashpoint:
We’ve missed the story

So we’ve missed the story all along about the coup to depose Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid? It’s not coming from Hillary Clinton or Dick Durbin or Chris Dodd: The would-be Senate decider is none other than Sarah Palin. Palin told a third grader Wednesday that the vice president is the president’s “teammate” but also “runs the Senate” and “can really get in there with the senators and make a lot of good policy changes,” according to wire reports. The vice president runs the Senate? Even Cheney never tried to take out Reid. (Yes, that is surprising.) So those comments Palin made during her debate with Joe Biden did presage her view of an expansive role of No. 2. So expansive it doesn’t exist in the Constitution. Watch your back, Harry.
