Highs in upper 70s today, warming up for weekend

Break out the sweaters and jackets again.
Las Vegas woke up today to crisp October weather, with temperatures about 8 a.m. starting out in the mid 50s. Today's high will reach 78 degrees this afternoon, according to the National Weather Service.
That's slightly above the normal high temperature of 77 degrees for this date, according to weather service data.
Winds will less breezy today, starting with a northwest wind between 4 and 7 mph this morning, becoming calm later in the day.
For the weekend, Las Vegas will return to more of those above-normal mid 80s during the day, with temperatures dropping into the 50s during the early morning hours.
