The Nevada Highway Patrol is investigating the death of a man who was hit and killed early this morning by a cement truck on the 215 Beltway.
The man, who has not yet been identified, darted from a rock-strewn embankment onto the highway in front of a cement truck that was heading west toward the northbound I-15 onramp, according to Trooper Kevin Honea.
Traffic ground to a halt on the highway after the accident, which occurred about 3 a.m., as officers worked the scene. All lanes were reopened on the Beltway by about 7:20 a.m., Honea said.
The man struck by the truck was wearing dark clothing and did not have a wallet or other identification, Honea said.
As part of the investigation, the highway patrol is looking into the man's run into traffic as an "intentional act," Honea said.
The Clark County coroner's office has not released the identity of the pedestrian.

Suicide by cement truck!
Yes, it certainly sounds that way doesn't it. With the country headed the way it is and the way the economy is just killing the middle class left and right I fear more of the same before it gets any better.
The person was my friends nephew and he lived in Florida. He was 31 years old and was in the service for 4 years and was an excellent LaCross player. What I don't understand is why didn't he have any ID on him and what was he doing in Vegas? Did he fly to Vegas? Where is his truck? If he rented a car, he needed to have identification. Was this an accident or intentional or was he trying to flag down and get help? A lot of questions need to be answered as to what really happened. Even if he was on drugs why didn't he have identification? I don't know the area so it is hard to figure out the whole story. I guess you don't get a name like, "Sin City" for nothing.
