Letter to the editor:
Pickens needs help from fellow titans
Tuesday, Oct. 21, 2008 | 2:03 a.m.
Where have our corporate giants been while this disaster has unfolded?
We hear little from our business leaders, except T. Boone Pickens, on how to fix our broken country and how they propose to help. They are not pulling their weight.
They must invest in this country by putting research and development facilities here instead of in China and India. They must commit to their staffs and workers instead of disposing of them on a whim and sending work overseas.
Given the proper tools of production, our factories can equal and surpass any manufacturing efficiency in the world. These corporate giants must step up with leadership and conviction and show they still care about America.
Patriots are needed, whether they are Democrats, Republicans or independents.
