Official: 5 arrested in Las Vegas in Mongols case

Tuesday, Oct. 21, 2008 | 11:06 a.m.

A federal prosecutor's spokeswoman says five Mongols motorcycle gang members been arrested in the Las Vegas area in a multistate federal racketeering indictment.

U.S. attorney's office spokeswoman Natalie Collins said Tuesday that Jason Hull, David Padilla, Ismael Padilla, William Ramirez and Harry Reynolds are in custody pending a hearing before a federal magistrate.

Las Vegas police say they raided several homes in southern Nevada this morning. They're not commenting about the operation.

Collins says the five men face unspecified charges in an indictment due to be unsealed in Los Angeles.

Federal authorities there say at least 38 members of the Southern California-based Mongols have been arrested.

They say warrants were served in six states in a three-year undercover investigation involving four agents who became Mongols members.
