2008 Election:

Judges tabbed to settle election disputes

Tuesday, Oct. 21, 2008 | 7:18 p.m.

Three Clark County District Court judges have been named to hear election disputes or election-related legal questions on Election Day.

Chief Judge Kathy A. Hardcastle named Douglas W. Herndon, David B. Barker and Valerie Adair to review any election concerns.

The purpose of these judges will allow petitioners to seek immediate relief and assist the court in streamlining the process of addressing election concerns, Hardcastle said.

“In an interest of fairness, it is important that we have judges available to provide immediate relief as questions arise,” Hardcastle said. “When an issue related to the election comes up, we want to be able to address it quickly and provide interested parties with timely access to the judicial system.”
