A 32-year-old woman was stopped in her car at a red light at Seven Hills Drive and Sunridge Heights Parkway Sunday morning when a man holding a gun got into the passenger's seat, Henderson police said this morning.

The man ordered the woman to drive and they ended up at Vivaldi Park, southwest of the intersection, where the suspect assaulted her, then fled on foot, police said. The incident began at about 6:10 a.m.

Henderson police are asking the public for assistance in identifying the man suspected in the attack.

He is described as being in his 30s or 40s with a dark complexion, a muscular build, short dark-colored spiked hair and clean shaven with hazel eyes. He has a deep scar on the right side of his face extending from the right ear to outside the edge of the right lip, police said.

The man was last seen wearing black jeans, a black hooded sweatshirt and black belt.

Detectives are asking anyone who may have seen anything to contact the police department. The woman was driving a silver Dodge Stratus at the time of the attack.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Henderson Police Department at 267-4750. Anyone who wishes to remain anonymous may call Crime Stoppers at 385-5555, and could be eligible for a cash reward.
