BY THE NUMBERS:
Property stolen, recovered
Monday, Oct. 20, 2008 | 2 a.m.
The equivalent of $110 in property and money was taken from every person living in the Las Vegas Valley from April 2007 to March 2008. According to crime reports filed with the state, about $1 was recovered for every $4 stolen, a figure buoyed largely by recovery of stolen vehicles. Currency was the least likely to be returned to Southern Nevada residents — roughly $100,000 was recovered during the same period that $23 million was reported stolen.
Agencies reporting: Metro Police, Henderson Police, North Las Vegas Police, Clark County School District Police, Boulder City Police and UNLV Police
