LETTER TO THE EDITOR:

The little guy has been pillaged again

Monday, Oct. 20, 2008 | 2:03 a.m.

I see that we, the little people, are getting the shaft again as the federal government bails out more companies with taxpayers’ dollars — companies that took multimillion-dollar bonuses while their companies were losing money.

Mr. President, would you please send me some of that money as I am taking a beating in my investments. If you don’t, I may apply for some relief by finding a way to get some of the billions of dollars you are giving away.

I don’t really need 80 or 90 billion dollars, just one or two hundred thousand dollars would do. Of course, if you are strapped for the money, just turn up the presses at the mint — it doesn’t matter that there is nothing behind this paper money.

I am 89 years old and at this time in my life I am ashamed at what has happened to this country. Isn’t it time to give America back to us and not to the rest of the world?

The government should open its eyes and do something for the little people.
