Warm weekend ahead

A warmer-than-normal October weekend is in the making for the Las Vegas area.
Today's skies will be mostly sunny, with temperatures climbing to 88 degrees this afternoon. Winds will be calm, becoming south-southeast around 5 mph, according to the National Weather Service.
The average high for this date is 80 degrees, with the record high of 95 set in 1958.
Today's morning low was 61 degrees, recorded at McCarran International Airport. The normal low temperature for this date is 56 degrees. The record low, 35 degrees, was set in 1938.
Overnight, the temperature is expected to fall to 62 degrees, with partly cloudy skies. Winds will continue to be calm.
Sunday's high will also reach 88 degrees, with winds 6 to 9 mph, the weather service said. Monday is expected to be a little cooler, with the high reaching only 83 degrees.
