Weather remains warm through weekend

Friday, Oct. 17, 2008 | 7:27 a.m.

Above normal temperatures, mostly sunny and dry conditions are expected to continue through this weekend, making it seem more like late summer than the middle of October.

Daytime high temperatures are running 6 to 8 degrees above normal, according to the National Weather Service. Today the Las Vegas Valley can expect a high around 86 degrees. That's no record compared to the 96 degree mark set in 1991. However, it is warmer than Thursday's high of 84 degrees.

Lows are running in the mid 50s and will remain there throughout the weekend, the weather service said.

There's no cooler air in sight until Tuesday when a Pacific Northwest low pressure system will sweep through Nevada, cooling us off but not bringing any chance of rain at the moment, according to the weather service.
