Annual Country Store sale this weekend
Grace Community Church's 61st annual Country Store rummage sale will be 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Oct. 17 and 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. Oct. 18.
The sale at the church, 1150 Wyoming St., will feature tools, clothes, dishes, electronic equipment, furniture, jewelry and housewares.
The proceeds from the sale will help to fund church projects and missions.

Boulder City Airport to hold air show
Boulder City Airport will host the Discover Aviation Air Show from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Oct. 18.
Vintage, experimental and general aviation aircraft will be on display and free aircraft rides will be given from 9-11 a.m. for children ages 8-17. The show will also feature demonstrations by American Warbirds of Carson City, formation flying by Boulder City and SoCal Pilots and Skydive Las Vegas.

Pancake breakfast to help troops
The Boulder City Elks Lodge 1682 will host a pancake breakfast from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. Oct. 18.
The cost of the breakfast is $4 and the funds will be use to mail Christmas packages to the troops in Afghanistan and Iraq. Donations of items for the Christmas packages, such as shaving cream, beef jerky, playing cards and individually wrapped hard candies will also be accepted.

Chiropractor to speak at forum on poverty
The Boulder City Baha'i Community will host a free public forum to discuss the causes of and solutions to poverty in the community.
Local chiropractor Dr. Larry Smith will speak about his recent trip to Mexico as part of a team of medical doctors and specialists that provided surgeries and services to people in impoverished areas.
The forum will be held at 7 p.m. Oct. 17 at the Boulder City Public Library.
Guests attending the forum are asked to use the rear entrance as the main entrance will be locked.

State veterans home to hold open house
The Nevada State Veterans Home will host a open house at 6 p.m. Oct. 22, 100 Veterans Memorial Drive.
Residents of Nevada State Veterans Home would like to thank the community for their support and generosity and invite them to take a tour of the home.
The open house is in celebration of the sixth anniversary of the home.
Refreshments will be served, tours will be provided and the community will get a chance to interact with the staff and residents.

Democrats to host forum for judge races
The Boulder City Democratic Club invites the community to meet and greet candidates for Clark County Family Court judge seats. The event will take place at 6 p.m. Oct. 23 in the lobby of the Boulder Dam Hotel.
Guests will be treated to wine and cheese refreshment and special guests Dann Briggs and Steve Sisolak will be in attendance.
Admission is free.
The Boulder City Democratic Club meets on the second Wednesday of each month at the Boulder City Library.
