Tuesday, Oct. 14, 2008 | 2:09 p.m.
A North Las Vegas woman died in a motorcycle crash Sunday about 34 miles east of Kingman, Ariz., the Arizona Department of Public Safety said.
When law enforcement officers arrived at the scene at about 12:01 p.m. Sunday, they discovered that 49-year-old Lois Meuir had been driving her Harley-Davidson westbound on Interstate 40 when it left the highway, authorities said.
Authorities said Meuir lost control of her motorcycle and was thrown to the ground. She died at the scene as a result of her injuries.
Meuir's husband, James, was riding a separate motorcycle at the time of the crash but wasn't involved in the incident, authorities said.
Lois Meuir was wearing a helmet when the crash occurred, authorities said.

Thoughts and prayers for her and here near and dear ones.. cycle riders..please pay more attention on the road..
Lois was a working plumber/pipefitter, a member of UA Local 525. We worked together for a year at the Southland Industries Fab Shop. She had a sharp tounge and a sharper wit. She recently left to work for S4S. She was a good woman, in a tough job, but she had a close loving family to stand by her--She will be missed by them, by her other union brothers and sisters, especially me. I am so very sorry she is gone. My deepest condolences to her husband and daughter.
MY FAVORITE NIECE, oh how I will miss her voice on the phone. Always knew that she was there, just pick up the phone. She was so family oriented and wanted the family to get together every year, with her being the hostess. Well, she finally did get the whole family together but for such a solemn occasion and all with heavy hearts. Some of the happiest moments in life are those we share with family. Will always remember her words "love and miss you".
Our deepest most heartfelt condolences go out to James and his family and friends. We are truly going to miss Lois. She was a member of SOUTHERN NEVADA HARLEY OWNERS GROUP and she will be missed by her extended family. Our thoughts and prayers will be with you.May God Bless You and Comfort you in your time of need.
