LETTER TO THE EDITOR:

Bailout won’t help Main Street America

Sunday, Oct. 12, 2008 | 2:02 a.m.

Bailing out the stock market and banks doesn’t do a thing, except line the pockets of the “fat cats.” What did the politicians expect to happen?

Main Street America is struggling just to put food on the table, pay for medical care, and pay rent and utilities. This doesn’t leave any money left over to buy the little things, such as clothes, haircuts and essentials.

This means there is no money left over for savings or 401(k)s. No money for eating out, movies or vacations.

If Main Street America can’t do those things, how can you expect any money to be put into the marketplace? It’s time for a change.
