On your way out today, grab a sweater or a coat. And maybe even an umbrella.

Temperatures took a free fall overnight into the 40s as a cold front swooped in from the north, according to the National Weather Service.

At 7:30 a.m., temperatures were in the upper 40s with a windchill at 43 degrees, according to readings at McCarran International Airport.

Temperatures are expected to rise to a high of 63 today, with isolated showers expected after 11 a.m. There's a 20 percent chance of precipitation.

Winds will be from the northwest between 14 and 22 mph, gusting as high as 32 mph, the weather service said.

The average temperature for today's date is 83 degrees, with the record high of 95 set in 1991.

The average low temperature for today is 59 degrees, with the record low of 43 set in 1961.

The weather service is predicting the coldest weather of the season so far overnight, predicting a Sunday morning low of 45 degrees for Las Vegas (the record was 38 set in 1946.)

Sunday will be mostly sunny, with the high reaching 66 degrees, with north northeast winds between 7 and 11 mph.
