Letter to the editor:

McCain has us over a barrel on bin Laden

Friday, Oct. 10, 2008 | 2:03 a.m.

Why I changed my mind and must vote for John McCain:

Yes, I know. I’m real sorry, my friends, but I feel I have no choice.

I watched the debate. If you missed it, here’s the clincher: McCain told us he would “get Osama bin Laden.” Not just talk. No weasel-worded qualifications and no “maybes.”

McCain told us he positively knows how to get him, knows exactly what to do and knows precisely how to do it. He would never make such a clear, positive statement if it weren’t true.

Now, you might say: “That’s not sufficient reason, because even if he loses, McCain is a patriot, a war hero, and he certainly will share that knowledge with Barack Obama.”

Unfortunately, I have to disagree. Look at it this way; if he would be willing to share that intelligence with Obama, he surely would have told George Bush, the commander in chief of our armed forces, who would certainly have called Gen. David Petraeus, and bin Laden would already be dead or captured. But he’s not. So, if he won’t tell Bush, why in the world would he share with Obama?

And that, my friends, is why we have no choice but to elect John McCain.
