The National Weather Service has two words of advice for those spending time outdoors this weekend: Bundle up.
Winds and blowing dust will continue through tonight's football games and any other outdoor events as a second cold front begins to move through the Las Vegas Valley. Winds are expected to blow from 25 to 35 mph with gusts that could reach higher than 40 mph throughout the night.
The National Weather Service has issued a wind advisory starting at 1 p.m. The advisory continues through the overnight hours into Saturday when winds could blow from 10 to 25 mph with gusts as high as 48 mph. In addition to the wind advisory, a fire weather watch is in effect for Southern Nevada, Southern California and northwestern Arizona because humidity levels are low.
The Clark County Department of Air Quality and Environmental Management continues its dust advisory for Clark County as blowing dust affected traffic on Interstate 15 at Mountain Pass and on U.S. 95 near Searchlight, about 60 miles south of Las Vegas.
Tonight's low temperature is expected to be in the mid 50s with temperatures struggling to reach 65 degrees on Saturday.
For the Las Vegas Valley once the cold front passes on Saturday, there's a chance of light sprinkles.
But on Mount Charleston the first snowfall can be expected with snow levels dropping to 4,500 feet in the Spring Mountains to the west of Las Vegas and in the Sheep Mountain Range north of the city.
Lows in the 40s are expected Saturday night and Sunday night, with daytime temperatures on Sunday in the mid to high 60s.
By Monday a warming trend will begin to lift daytime highs into the 70s until next Wednesday and Thursday when highs could reach into the 80s.
And then another storm system is expected for the weekend.
