Poker pub crawl to raise money for dog park

See Spot Run hopes to raise at least $3,000 Oct. 11 at its second annual See Spot Poker Run pub crawl.
The event continues five years of fundraising for a planned off-leash dog park in Boulder City, which organizers say they hope to construct in the spring.
Margaret Kolar said the nonprofit has enough money to construct a fence around the land the city is leasing at the Railroad Storm Water Detention Basin. Engineers are drafting site plans and, after the group gets final approval from the city, the group will break ground next year.
Last year, the group raised about $1,700 at the bar-to-bar poker game, Diane Best said.
A scorecard will cost $20, and players can pick up cards at the Backstop Sports Pub, the Bighorn Restaurant, Tony's Lounge, Milo's Best Cellars, the Other Side Cantina, Boulder Dam Brewery and Evan's Grille from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Once participants have scorecards, they will be able to go to each of the seven participating merchants and pick up a playing card.
Last year's participants will be entitled to an extra draw, Best said.
The highest and lowest hand from those cards will be announced after everyone assembles at Boulder Dam Brewery at 9 p.m., and the winners will receive gift cards to the seven participating merchants.
