Man arrested in deadly stabbing of mother

Metro Police have arrested a man in connection with the fatal stabbing Wednesday of his mother.

Police said 27-year-old Garrick K. Brown was taken to the Clark County Detention Center, where he is charged with battery with substantial violence with a deadly weapon and murder with a deadly weapon on a senior citizen.

Police arrived at the residence at 6322 W. Haleh Ave. and found 61-year-old Raymarie Geraldine Brown of Las Vegas dead inside the home. Police said the woman called 911 on Wednesday and said she had been stabbed.

Police arrived at the residence at about 10:30 a.m. Wednesday. Garrick Brown was arrested later Wednesday, police said this morning.

The house is in the southwest valley.
