Assembly District 5 - Toussaint vs. Loop vs. Woolbright
Wed, Oct 8, 2008 (2 p.m.)
Republican Donna Toussaint, Democrat Marilyn Loop and Independent Don Woolbright are all vying for the District 5 state assembly seat.
Toussaint has been a resident of Las Vegas since childhood. She attended the Pierce College in Woodland Hill, Calif., majoring in computer science. Toussaint wants to bring quality health care and better education to the district.
Loop, 57, currently works in sales for Pearson Publishing, a supplier of educational books and materials. Before that, she taught in Clark County elementary schools for more than 30 years.
As someone who has spent her life working with children, Loop wants to increase the protection of children and crack down on sexual predators. She also wants to make affordable health care in Nevada a priority and keep taxes low for workers and retirees.
Woolbright, who is running as an Independent, is a Persian Gulf veteran and has been a Las Vegas resident for the past eight years. Woolbright said as a businessman with experience, he hopes to remedy the Nevada budget crisis.

Woolbright is a nice guy. However, it would seem he is out of the loop.
Don Wolbright is a nice guy but more importantly he has the experience. As a 3 term councilman and former president of the board he has passed hundreds of resolutions, ordinances and has balanced budgets without raising taxes.
More experience than both opponents combined.
The sun never has mentioned that or his positions.
Shame on them.
