Suspicious fires damage 2 parked boats, house

Henderson fire officials are investigating a possible arson after extinguishing two boat fires in the Green Valley area early this morning. The fires caused $35,000 in damage to the boats and a nearby home.
At about 12:37 a.m., the Henderson Fire Department responded to a report of two boats on fire near Warm Springs Road and Arroyo Grande Boulevard. One boat was parked on the street; the other was parked in the driveway of a house at 1831 Paprika, across the street from the first fire.
Both fires were extinguished within 15 minutes.
The fire from the boat parked in the driveway caused smoke damage to the exterior of the home. Residents were not displaced and no injuries were reported.
The fire department is investigating the fires as suspicious. Anyone with more information is asked to contact the Henderson Fire Department at 303-8058.
