Letter to the editor:
Price of oil is down; why not price of gas?
Tuesday, Oct. 7, 2008 | 2:04 a.m.
Once again the American people, represented by idiots in Washington, are paying for the mistakes of the greedy. On Monday the Dow Jones industrial average was down more than 369 points at its close. Who is going to rescue the rescuers?
The real thievery is in the lack of falling gasoline prices at the pump. When the price of oil was going up, up, up, the price of gasoline kept a close pace. With oil selling for less than $90 a barrel Monday morning, the best price I have seen for gasoline is $3.33 a gallon.
If the all-powerful oil lobby and oil companies were playing fair, the fair market price at the pump would be less than $2 a gallon.
How does it feel to have the same thieves always in your pocket?
