A Las Vegas woman celebrating her 20th anniversary as an employee of a local casino was shot to death Thursday night outside a home near East Bonanza Road and North Lamb Boulevard, Metro Police said.
The Clark County coroner's office had not identified the woman this morning.
Officers arrived at about 9:56 p.m. Thursday in the 4000 block of Hidden Oasis Court after receiving a call about a woman who had been shot.
Officers said the woman had been shot in the chest. She was taken to University Medical Center, where she died a short time later, police said.
Homicide detectives said the woman had been outside her home with family, celebrating her employment anniversary when a single gunshot was heard.
Family members then realized the woman had been shot, police said.
There are no suspect descriptions at this time and a vehicle was described only as a small silver compact car, police said. Police have no motive in the homicide.
Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 385-5555 to remain anonymous, or call Metro's homicide section at 828-3521.
