A new poll released today shows Democratic presidential nominee Sen. Barack Obama ahead of Republican Sen. John McCain by four points in Nevada.
The Rasmussen Reports survey shows Obama with 51 percent support, compared to 47 percent for McCain.
McCain had a three-point advantage in Nevada in a Rasmussen poll last month. Rasmussen now gives McCain a 41 percent chance of winning the state.
The pollster says the economy is the top issue on the minds of voters, and only 8 percent of Nevada voters rate the U.S. economy as good or excellent, while 62 percent say the economy is in poor shape.
"Voters in Nevada are fairly evenly divided as to which candidate they trust most when it comes to the economy. Obama now leads by nine points among women but trails by two among men," Rasmussen said in a statement today.
The pollster said McCain is viewed favorably by 54 percent of the state’s voters, Obama by 53 percent. As for running mates, Sen. Joseph Biden is viewed favorably by 52 percent, while 50 percent view Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin favorably.

The Democrats are within striking distance of turning Nevada BLUE! But, now, is not the time to slack up and sit back and relax - now is the time for ramping up our final push to victory!
Mail-in Voter Registration closed yesterday - but, people can still register to vote by going to the Election Department personally - we need to continue to put an emphasis on this fact in our messaging!
Our Field Organizers are working smart and hard - but, they need all the volunteers they can get - just a couple of hours a week volunteering in YOUR neighborhood and precinct could make a big difference between a local win or loss - so, do NOT make the mistake of thinking someone else is going to walk your neighborhood and knock on your neighbors doors - that is YOUR civic duty!
Early Voting starts in Nevada in just 2 weeks - and it is important to VOTE EARLY! Why? Because the earlier you vote the quicker your vote gets recorded and gives your candidate of choice momentum in the polls - that is very, very important!
Also, it's the best way to get those pesky phone calls to stop - once you've voted, and the poll takers verify you have voted - the calls will stop! So, VOTE EARLY!
Then, do all you can to help others G.O.T.V. - GET OUT THE VOTE through November 4th! We can all kick back on Nov 5th and know we did our best to do our civic duty - and make sure and check out what numbers your precinct produced - and be proud!
