Legacy edges Arbor View in OT
Legacy defeated Arbor View in overtime, 31-30.
“In overtime, Legacy scored first, then we went for a two-point conversion and they stopped us,” Arbor View head coach Dan Barnson said.
Legacy’s head coach, David Snyder, said he didn't think his team played well, despite the win, because of turnovers. Legacy did have stand-out rushers with 167 yards rushing from Prince Oroke and 127 yards rushing for Deshae Edwards.
“A good team beat a good team," Barnson said. "It could have gone either way."
Barnson called No. 31 Taylor Wooten was the team’s "workhorse" after rushing for about 275 yards.
Mojave still winless after Shadow Ridge loss
Shadow Ridge added another loss to winless Mojave’s record with Friday’s 28-12 win.
“The kids played really well. They worked really hard and this week we executed when we had to,” Shadow Ridge head coach Gabe Gledhill said.
Gledhill said running back Zach Hill contributed to the team's win with successful rushing.
Shadow Ridge faces undefeated Palo Verde next Friday.
Cheyenne pounds Centennial
Cheyenne smothered Centennial, 44-3, Friday night.
“We just got a butt-whooping tonight,” Centennial head coach George Baker said. “Cheyenne’s just really good and we have to go back to the drawing board tomorrow.”
Centennial will have a chance to break its losing streak next week at home against Arbor View.
