Two workers on the 63rd floor of the Fontainebleau construction project were injured when they were hit by a large beam this morning.
Both were alive, awake and talking when rescuers responded at about 6:08 a.m. at 2577 Las Vegas Blvd. South, said Clark County Fire Department spokesman Scott Allison.
One worker has head, shoulder and leg injuries, Allison said. The second worker is "very stable" with lower back pain and a leg injury, Allison said.
The fire department's rescue team brought the workers down in stokes baskets and a large crane, Allison said. Both workers were taken to University Medical Center's trauma unit.
Nevada's Occupational Safety and Health Administration is investigating the accident, Allison said.
