Letter to the editor:
Don’t look for the McCain you once knew
Wednesday, Oct. 1, 2008 | 2:05 a.m.
We keep reading and hearing from various commentators something along the lines of, “What has happened to the John McCain of old? He once had integrity and honor.”
Unfortunately, McCain, in a reckless choice, has as his running mate an individual who, politely said, is inept. This was, indeed, a cynical gimmick on his part to gain control of some news cycles, and this is madness.
He has surrounded himself with lobbyists and ruthless campaign managers. These people admit they do not care what the media think of their unscrupulous doings. Obviously, they must think the American people are unaware of the lying, the secrecy and the deceptions used in promoting the McCain-Palin ticket.
But we are aware. We know that the McCain-Palin duo is just a continuation of the same “cloak and dagger” tactics that were so prevalent during the Bush-Cheney-Rove presidency.
Pitiful it is, and I view it not only with contempt but also with great sadness.

You can make those statements and there is no way we can prove or disprove them. But we know a couple of things, you speak as if you are privy to some special information about palin, mccain, rove, bush and cheney. you talk about them as if they have some evil agenda and you have the proof somewhere but won't show us this convincing documentation. The propaganda from politicians has led you to believe that one side is good and one side is evil. There is no magic pill here sue. Do you have any idea what goes on in washington? I know people out there and if you could spend a day in the right places out there it would blow your mind. That machine in washington has nothing to do with representing people with well directed programs and great oversight of our american taxpayer money, and this has nothing to do with a particular party. 8 years can't possibly do the damage that your ridiculous insight so describes. When capitalism is all gone here (and it nearly is) when your choices are mostly gone (national health care for one) when freedoms are diminished and speech too (remember they deregulated radio/tv too its still consolidating)with fewer voices will you still blame it on a party? A few people with such an evil plan actually had that much power to destroy it all?
Come on Sue you said "secrecy and deception promoting mccain/palin ticket? like a dr. evil kind of thing and then you call palin inept?
how could so much covert power want to sneak someone "inept" into government? Maybe it is a puppet strategy?
My personal theory is that government has gotten so big we can't even understand it anymore, they know it and it has come down to whoever can market themselves better to a dumbed down america. Sue your not dumber than me but I don't think I am dumber than you either.
I just wish that you would be sad about the right thing.
