A pedestrian suffered critical injuries after being hit by a car Thursday night while crossing Las Vegas Boulevard just north of Wilson Avenue, according to Metro Police.
The pedestrian, who has not yet been identified, was taken to University Medical Center Trauma, and was listed in critical condition, police said.
Officers said the accident occurred at 7:46 p.m. as the pedestrian was crossing Las Vegas Boulevard from east to west outside a crosswalk.
Evidence and witness statements indicate that a 2002 Pontiac Grand Prix, driven by Thomas Silvino, 52, Las Vegas, was traveling south in the right travel lane and was unable to stop and struck the pedestrian as he walked into the right lane, police said.
Police said the accident remains under investigation.
