Obama a refreshing presence on big stage

Fri, Nov 21, 2008 (2:02 a.m.)

As I watched “60 Minutes” on Sunday, I was struck by Barack Obama, who spoke in complete sentences, something we haven’t heard in eight years under George W. Bush. It is going to be a real pleasure to listen to an articulate president for a change.

So far, I am very impressed with Obama’s Cabinet picks. And it would not surprise me if Obama, the uniter, were to pick Republican Chuck Hagel for secretary of defense. There also are two very qualified Democrats in Sam Nunn and Gen. Wesley Clark.

So far so good for Obama. What a breath of fresh air.
