The 8th District Court in Las Vegas late today granted a temporary restraining order against further procedures at the Valley Eye Center.
The order reads in part: "It is further found that imminent and irreparable harm will result should the instant temporary restraining order is not immediately issued."
Nevada Attorney General Catherine Cortez Masto, on behalf of the Nevada State Board of Medical Examiners, filed today for restraining orders and injunctions against physicians associated with Valley Eye Center in Las Vegas.
The legal filings document reports to the medical examiners board from 30 patients who had LASIK surgery performed at Valley Eye Center and who suffered damage to their vision as a result.
"The state Board of Medical Examiners and I are working to prevent unlicensed and unqualified physicians from harming the people of our state," Masto said. "I filed this action to protect our citizens."
The legal request seeks to have the medical licenses of the doctors associated with Valley Eye Center suspended until the Medical Examiners Board can take disciplinary action.
Named in the attorney general's complaint are Drs. Anamika Jain, Stella Yi Chou and Paul Cutarelli.
In addition, Masto said she is seeking a restraining order and injunction against the practice of medicine at the Valley Eye Center.
Further, Masto said she is seeking to prevent Vikas Jain, who is associated with the Valley Eye Center clinic, from practicing medicine in Nevada without a license. Vikas Jain previously held a medical license in the state of Ohio. That license was permanently revoked after a hearing documented that 22 Ohio patients had complained about eye treatments Jain had provided to them.

More disgraceful news about the level of medical care in Vegas..
The medical care here is not all that great. This just puts another notch in the system for bad doctors. However, as long as us humans are on the quest to being "perfect" the carpetbaggers will still be out there preying on the weak.
