flashpoint:
Signs of imminent death
Sat, May 31, 2008 (2 a.m.)
I am not a great believer in omens. But what I do know is
that for a politician, when newspapers start posting videos of you with your alleged girlfriend and radio stations start spoofing your divorce action with your wife, those are signs of imminent death. Such was the case this week for Gov. Jim Gibbons, as the Review-Journal ludicrously posted the video as some kind of “aha” moment, even though the woman can barely be seen and it proves absolutely nothing. But that they are rabid enough to do it tells you the powers that be at that Gibbons-loving newspaper have turned on their man. As for the “Dawn and Jimmy” show on KKLZ, it is viciously funny and portrays neither in a flattering light. I can only imagine what’s next on the blogs.
