Obama’s backers are patriotic, not naive

There has been a string of letters to the editor in the past few days blasting Barack Obama backers as naive.

Obama (and his supporters) believe that we can restore our image on the world stage by honoring our commitment to basic human rights and curbing global warming. He believes that Americans are hard workers and can make quality products for the world market without sending factories overseas.

Obama believes that war is an instrument that ought to be used only when absolutely necessary. Obama believes that we must take care of our wounded warriors properly when they return from battle.

He believes that every American deserves quality health care for himself and his family. Obama, simply put, believes in America. If I am naive for sharing those views, then I am proud to be so!
