LETTER TO THE EDITOR:

The more energy solutions the merrier

Saturday, May 17, 2008 | 2:03 a.m.

Regarding the Las Vegas Sun’s Wednesday story “Voters, pick your fix for gas prices”:

Here’s an idea ... let’s do both. In fact, let’s do it all!

Let’s look for oil, gas and coal everywhere we can within our own borders. Let’s build wind farms and install solar panels anywhere it’s economically feasible. Let’s build a few nuclear power plants. And how about a few more refineries?

Let’s create some real incentives to implement alternative energy solutions: A windfall tax on oil companies sounds fine to me (unless it causes the price at the pump to go up).

Why in the world would we leave anything out? Oh, right ... special interest groups.

The only special interest that regular “working people” (as the politicians of both stripes so love to reference) have is an interest in not spending a hundred bucks to fill up the tank so they can drive to work.
