Sat, May 17, 2008 (5:02 a.m.)
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi arrived in Baghdad for a surprise visit, an Iraqi government official said Saturday.
The California Democrat is meeting with Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki, the official said.
The official spoke on condition of anonymity because he wasn't authorized to release the information before an official statement is made.
Pelosi's visit to Baghdad comes a day after she led a bipartisan congressional delegation to Israel to mark the 60th anniversary of Israel's founding.
