Bush’s sacrifice of golf a travesty

I would like to apologize for thinking that President Bush is out of touch with the American people. I read an article about an interview he did with the online publications Politico and Yahoo News.

The Associated Press reports that in the interview the president stated he gave up golf in 2003 out of respect for U.S. soldiers killed in war. Now there’s a man who knows sacrifice! He went on to say, “I don’t want some mom whose son may have recently died to see the commander in chief playing golf.”

I’m sure that will bring comfort to those who have lost sons, daughters, fathers, mothers and other family members. I’m wondering if the real reason he gave up golf was because he got tired of cleaning blood off his grips.
