Reno girl arrested with pellet gun at school
Thu, May 8, 2008 (7:07 p.m.)
Authorities say a 12-year-old Reno girl has been arrested by school police after shooting another student with an airsoft pellet gun.
The incident outside Grace Warner Elementary School happened before classes started Thursday.
"A little girl had this pistol out on the playground before school," Washoe County School District spokesman Steve Mulvenon said. "She pulled the trigger and the pellet hit another student."
The other student was not injured, Mulvenon said.
Airsoft guns are used for playing games similar to paintball.
Mulvenon did not know if the gun was fired with malice or as a prank.
