3 killed, 10 wounded by bomb in southern Philippine
Thu, May 8, 2008 (2:17 a.m.)
Police say a homemade bomb has exploded near a passenger van in the southern Philippines. At least three people were killed and 10 were wounded.
Town police chief Superintendent Chino Mamburam says the bomb in Midsayap township seems to have been detonated remotely.
Army Col. Pedro Soria says troops have secured the area Thursday and were looking for clues that may lead to suspects.
The area is a target of extortion gangs, and Muslim rebels have a presence nearby.
