LETTER TO THE EDITOR:

Don’t blame Obama for Wright’s rantings

Wed, May 7, 2008 (2:04 a.m.)

Barack Obama attended Trinity United Church of Christ to praise and honor God, not the Rev. Jeremiah Wright Jr.

Unfortunately, people equate Obama and his church membership with the mentality of many who thought that all whites living in the South were racists and disciples of the KKK. That was stupid, and it was grossly unfair and inaccurate.

Yet that is what is being done to Barack Obama. The fact that he attended Trinity does not make him a radical or a believer of any of the Rev. Wright’s rantings.

Discussion: 12 comments so far…

  1. Nothing is "being done" to Obama that he didn't do to himself first, very willingly.

"Sitting in the pew"(mq) for 20+ years and being so intimately involved with Wright's church connects the two. For Obama to (now) say he didn't know what was going on in HIS church is disingenuous and truly brings to question his basic judgment; a very important factor in judging him for the Presidency.

Oprah Winfrey was a member of this church for many years before she left due to the radicalism of Wright.

It is interesting you would bring any KKK references into this argument. Remember, all but a very few percentage points of all KKK members in the South were Democrats.

An upcoming Wright / Trinity Church issue is that of "Black Liberation Theology", in shorthand, religious Marxism. It is, according to Obama's books, an important guiding issue in his spiritual "upbringing", thanks to being introduced to this by Wright. This will come out soon enough and will be more damaging to Obama as belonging in a very famously racist church has been.

  2. Wow, it's not at all beneath NVMakz to make an issue of someone's faith in God. Way to lower the bar, champ.

Black liberation theology has been around for 40+ years. It's nothing to fear, unless you intentionally misinterpret it.

    A primer:

Not that using logic and reason will help, but I didn't want NVMakz's absurd fearmongering to go unanswered.

  3. Faith in God IS a major judgment for candidates for the "big chair". To "make an issue" of this as to any POTUS candidate - has been going since the founding of the Republic. "the bs's" position here is senseless.

Liberals want to stifle issues for their person, that seen in the reverse, da liberal would be getting 24/7 condemnation against the Conservative. Liberals want to protect this man - shield him. Not gonna fly if he's the nominee.

Obama, the most unique and inexperienced POTUS candidate in 2008, has no REAL trackrecord, just flowery speeches. EVERY aspect of all the candidate's life will be examined due to his political puppydom.

I want everyone to beginning studying "BLT". I'm a week or so in, because it is an important issue. Google it and read.

"the bs's" feelings will be crushed at the "religious Marxism" truths of BLT re: his selling it in the response.

The vast majority of KKK members, from the founding on, were Southern, post Civil-War LOSS mentality == DEMOCRATS.

    Like it or not..........

The bar is still far from your reach.

  4. Your histrionic absurdism is hardly worth even this reply.

  5. That bar is a long way away for you, isn't it??

I count nine points I wanted to - and did make successfully. You didn't, or couldn't, answer a one of them.

Once I calm down, I roll.................

  6. Histrionic absurdism meets rampant egomaniac. Your "points" have no basis in reality, nor are they properly argued, thus they're not worth a reply.

  7. Keep walking away.....

At least you know when it's too hot and move away. A very primal, animal response, or perhaps childlike in its suddenness, but totally expected.

I sense a reduction in "the bs" around here. Change is in the air.....

  8. Something's in the air alright... it reeks of your overeager desperation. Again, bring something substantive and I'll engage.

Until then, I'll continue chuckling at your attention-starved antics. I mean, my four year old nephew isn't this desperate for attention.

  9. Still nothing on the subject matter??

    Thought so?

    I smell roasted "the bs".

USA Today had a good article on this in their op-ed section, ims. About how the major (liberals covering for Obama) media has snoozed on Obama' associations for a year now. "How could this have happened", says the secondary headline.

    lol.............

  10. I'm futilely waiting for a coherent argument.

    And enjoying watching you stir.

  11. Nine points and still crickets from "the bs". None responded to. 0-9 = .000.

A shutout day for me. On two fronts here, as well. I'll take it!. Too easy to say I'd earned it.

Have a nice weekend. Going to my cabin....

  12. Before you go, could you do me a favor? I'm trying to comprehend your shrill bleating on the tax amnesty article, but your abhorrent spelling and grammar make it nearly impossible.

I mean, I'm sure it makes sense in your head, where the myriad voices fill in the blanks, but on paper? No comprende.

Could you run your future comments through a spell checker? Firefox has one built-in. Open Office also offers the linguistically-challenged an opportunity to correct their mistakes. It'd be appreciated.

Unfortunately for me, I've waited all day for some semblance of reasoning to respond to. It was never offered. You were rather impotent today. Better luck next week.

Use your time in the forest to commune with reality.
