LETTER TO THE EDITOR:
McCain is the best choice for our nation
Sunday, May 4, 2008 | 2:07 a.m.
Regarding Thursday’s letter from Glen J. Gillette, headlined “Obama, Clinton not in McCain’s league”:
Thank you. I’m glad someone stepped up to tell it how it is. A President Hillary Clinton doesn’t do anything for me and neither does a President Barack Obama. John McCain, the presumptive Republican presidential nominee, wasn’t my first choice, but he is the best running. He understands not just the military, but also diplomacy and our Constitution.
I am not a new voter by any means. I started with Franklin Delano Roosevelt, so I’ve seen a few things. We need a strong leader, but we also need to weed the old-timers out of Congress. I think two terms should be the limit for all of them.

I'm with you, Margaret! He's not perfect but a heck of a lot better than the other 2!
I think NOT!
McCain is a towering political stud compared to the two uber-socialist frauds and liars running "from" the left this election season.
Let me get this straight, Ms. Thomas. We need to weed the old-timers out of Congress, and to do so you propose making one of them President?
McCain can't even tell the difference between a Sunni and a Shi'ite and you think he would make a good President? McCain admits he knows nothing about economics and you think this makes him qualified? What McCain promises is four ore years just like the last eight. It hasn't been a recipe for success so far. What makes anyone believe that it will prove to be so in the next four or eight years?
Stunning. I'm pretty sure you also said the same thing about Bush/Cheney in 2000 and 2004 and look where we are. Basically we're circling the drain.
I guess some people won't learn until half the country is unemployed and we're paying 10-15$ a gallon for gas.
"Mino":
If the uber-lib has their way, half will be unemployed and we'll be paying 10-15/gallon for fuel. Thanks for the peek into the mind of da' lib.....
Connect the current crop of challenges with the takeover of Congress (2006) by the lib-socialist wing of the Dems, and you'll have the truth.
