flashpoint:
The governor’s 21-point plan
Wed, Jun 25, 2008 (2 a.m.)
In case you didn’t know, the governor has a 21-point plan to
fix the state budget. That’s what he told a Northern Nevada interviewer Tuesday. What are the 21 points? He won’t say. Why won’t he say? Who knows? He also told Sam Shad of “Nevada Newsmakers” that legislators are complaining and should come up with their own ideas — and they finally are, I think. And Gibbons also told Shad, when pressed about his “no new taxes” not being a vision per se, that his vision is to make Nevada an energy exporting state. And, oh yes, he is still against any new taxes and he might be for suspending those state employee raises, but he didn’t want to say anything definitely. No rush. The special session starts Friday.
