flashpoint:

Typical media cynicism

Tue, Jun 24, 2008 (2 a.m.)

News that Lt. Gov. Brian Krolicki would be John McCain’s

campaign chairman in Nevada was greeted by the typical media cynicism. No report of the announcement was complete without some snide reference to the fact that Gov. Jim Gibbons, the state’s highest-ranking (by job) and lowest-ranking (by poll numbers) Republican, had been snubbed. I’m surprised the sneering media types — they are awful! — didn’t highlight those yet to be resolved allegations of financial mismanagement against Krolicki. And there is no truth to the rumor that when asked about Gibbons’ being bypassed in favor of him, Krolicki declared, “Hey, what’s the big deal? The way things are going for Jim, I might be governor by the time of the general election anyhow.”

  1. We can hope and pray that Jimbo "the LovGov" Gibbons is impeached, and Mr. Krolicki is sworn in as governor.
