Letter to the editor:
Tony Snow spoke from right with class
Thursday, July 17, 2008 | 2:02 a.m.
It is sad to note the recent passing of conservative commentator and former presidential press secretary Tony Snow.
I am a liberal and one who often delights in “tweaking” the arrogant noses of the loyal opposition. But Tony Snow earned the respect and admiration of most liberals and many others of differing political or social persuasions.
Unlike the bombastic ranting of a Rush Limbaugh, whose radio show he occasionally guest hosted, or the empty-headed rhetoric of the Fox News crew, or the gutter language of an Ann Coulter, Tony Snow’s speaking embodied the essence of professionalism, character, courage and civility that were sadly lacking among his fellow ideologues.
Tony Snow was an unapologetic and uncompromising spokesman for the Bush administration, but his demeanor toward the press and the public was always polite and professional, and he always attempted to present a positive picture of the administration. Tony Snow earned the admiration and respect of his fellow professionals and of the citizens of this country. Godspeed, Tony!

Agreed. I wonder how many conservatives are willing to show such respect and admiration for liberal spokespeople who have passed away?
