flashpoint:

I probably should keep my mouth shut

Thursday, Jan. 24, 2008 | 2 a.m.

I probably should keep my mouth shut because I work for a rival television station and I recently appeared in a commercial that one viewer mistook as an ad for Hamada of Japan. But figure the odds of my keeping my mouth shut. And this is just too delicious it must be served up. Have you seen those new KVBC, Channel 3, ads for the station’s newscasts? “We are WOFY” is the theme. They are Watching Out For You. I can’t believe a grown human being would actually say, “We are WOFY.” But they do. Maybe we can do better than that, though. We Only Fool You? Wagners Out For Yuks? Watch Out For Yokels? I could think of more, but I want your help. Channel 3 needs us. Please send me your ideas so we can all be WOFY.

  1. Weary of Flashpoint Yammering....no, seriously.

    Watering our Front Yard.

    Warmed over from yesterday.

    Worn out from yodeling.

Note that these fit better with the We are...WOFY, rather than the WOFY stand alone comments you offered. (There are lots of w verbs, and some o prepositions, but the y words, overall, make it tricky.)

  2. We are WOFY? Simple: We are wagging our fannys yearningly.

You probably thought it meant, "We Our Fooling You." Nevermind the problem with the homophone.
