The Nevada Democratic Party launched a TV ad Wednesday in which Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid urged Democrats and Republicans to attend their respective caucuses.

“The presidential candidates are listening,” Reid says into the camera as he walks through a caucus site in his hometown of Searchlight. “So whether you’re a Democrat or a Republican, caucus on Saturday the 19th. Let them hear your voice and be part of the change America needs.”

The state Democratic Party is spending $150,000 on the ad, which is running statewide.

Reid said the free pitch for the Republican contest stems from a desire to help the state as a whole, regardless of party affiliation.

“I think Republicans should have a good caucus,” he said.
