CRIME:
Police searching for bank robber
Wednesday, Dec. 31, 2008 | 3:11 p.m.
Metro Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a man who robbed a bank Saturday near the 6100 block of West Tropicana Avenue.
Police said the man entered the bank and stood in line acting like a customer. When the teller asked if she could help him, the man presented a note demanding money and displayed a knife in a threatening manner, police said.
The teller complied and the suspect took the money and felt on foot east bound, the north bound, police said.
The robber was described as being a black man with a medium complexion who is in his early 30s and is about 5 feet 11 inches tall, weighing 170 pounds, police said. He also had a gap in his front teeth and a thin mustache, police said. The robber was last seen wearing all dark clothing, police said.
Anyone with information is urged to call the Metro Police robbery section at 828-3591 or Crime Stoppers at 385-5555.
